1936 Ford Fordor Standard Sedan ExteriorOriginal Henry Ford & Son sheet metal, this body features alloriginal glass and tracks, weather strip, bumpers, bonded rubberrunning boards, soft roof, shared B pillar latched doors, deluxespare tire cover and shiny hinges for said trunk. Some additional"deluxe" trim has been added to bling it up a tad. Throw on somehorizontal ribs on the cowled hood, grille surround, and hiddenblack open horn bezels. Beautifully preserved gently curved chromebumpers with vertical bars to protect them on front and rear and weare off to the rally. Included are black wall tires with blackwheels and moon caps with a chromed edge and a V8 badge in thecenter. There are a few chip offs of the paint,mostly confined tothe edges near the rockers and lowers, and chrome has slightdulling but it is original. No rust on this exterior steel.InteriorInside some TLC will be required as we note solid stitched lineddoor panels which have some water damage. Original cranks andactuators are on and appear in shiny condition. Inside more silktufted and tucked and wide rolled seats have several patches inthem from previous repairs. The seats retain their original shapeand are still solid and not saggy. This holds true for the rearbench as well. The floors are not covered with any carpeting, andshow some surface and a little invasive rusting of the steel. Thedash is full metal jacket, painted brown and is very simply adornedwith warm cream colored round sweep gauges that are wonderfullyvintage. This also holds true for the large round bakelite steeringwheel with another V8 central badge. Above a mohair headliner isstill tight and shows aging and fading, but with no real obviousfaults with this field.DrivetrainUnder the hood is the factory 221ci V8 flathead engine. It has asingle 2-barrel carburetor feeding it and it is sans air cleaner,and in back is a 3-speed manual transmission. The rear axle weighsin at 4.11. The engine and heads show surface rust and have goneunrestored but some newer parts have been put on as you can see thevisual difference.UndercarriageA new black fuel tank sticks out in a field of heavily surfacerusted undercarriage framing, floor pans, and suspension withmechanicals also surface rusted. Speaking of which we seemechanical drum brakes all around and transverse leaf springs forfront and rear. A stock exhaust is installed. Despite the heavysurface rust, there does not appear to be any invasive rust causingany structural issues.Drive-AbilityHaving been in storage since 1968, some tinkering and mechanicalonce overs will be required before youre off robbing banks andoutrunning the lawman.
